Tonight (Friday, May 13) at 6:00 p.m., Loveland Police Department will be hosting a webcast of the National Law Enforcement Memorial’s Annual Candlelight Vigil from Washington D.C.  It is a two hour program and the Loveland PD is opening the Police Institute (large training room) for that event.

Also, on Thursday, May 19, the Loveland Police Department we will be hosting a very brief Memorial Ceremony at Loveland PD, outside the building and in front of it.  This will occur at approximately 5:30 in the afternoon and will seek to honor all the Officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in 2015 but will focus on the Colorado Officers who were killed in the line of duty during calendar year, 2015.  Those officers include Sergeant Sean Renfro of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, killed in a motor vehicle crash on January 3, 2015, CSP Trooper Taylor Thyfault who was killed May 23, 2015 by a vehicular assault (near Longmont), CSP Trooper Jaimie Lynn Jursevics who was killed in another vehicular assault on November 15, 2015, and Colorado Springs PD Officer Garrett Preston Russell Swasey who was killed by gunfire on November 27, 2015.
