Loveland Girl Follows Her Dreams to Nashville [AUDIO]
Mindy Ellis is a country singer pursuing her dreams in Nashville. Mindy got her start in the music business singing around the campfire on her family's ranch west of Loveland. Yes, she is a local girl. Mindy is a singer-songwriter that has just released a new single. You get to hear it here 1st. Mindy wrote this song with Nicole Johnson and Tonja Rose. It's called "This Is Gonna' Be Good"!
Mindy has known she wanted to be a country singer most of her life. Her mom, Roxie, told me how it all started:
"She was eight years old when she saw a group of girls out of Fort Collins singing together in Denver and she said Mom I want to do that when I grow up. I found out where in Fort Collins the group was from - FC Academy of Arts - and the rest is history. She joined the group and also started taking piano and guitar lessons. When was 12 years old she was in horse 4-H and doing the singing thing too, told her we can't buy new saddles and sound systems, she two very expensive hobbies. We told her she need to focus on one or the other and it took her a split second to decide. She choose music over the horses because she said Mom I know we will always have horse on the ranch, and she was right."
When Mindy and her band are not on the road, she is at home in Nashville with her family. She is a regular performer at Legends Corner located in the shadow of the historic Ryman Auditorium. She is also currently writing songs for Bigger Picture Group.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention, Mindy just happens to be married to country sensation Craig Campbell. So, now we know who Craig is singing about in his smash hit "Family Man".
