My Honor Flight Northern Colorado Endurance Ride is coming up fast. Too fast and I still need to raise over $25,000 to reach my goal and local businesses are now getting involved.

I will be doing a Live Broadcast from the Windsor 7-11 store on Saturday, May 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. collecting money for my upcoming ride in June.

I honestly thought by now I would have hit the $50,000 goal I set for this final attempt at riding one of the most extreme motorcycle rides there is; 10,000 miles in 10 days. The idea is to sponsor miles at $1 per mile but many are just not that enthusiastic about it this year I guess. At this point, I should be at about $12,000 left to raise but I am at $28,864 left to hit goal.

So last week, some local business owners finally got involved and gong way above and beyond to raise money in their stores to donate to my ride coming up in June which of course benefits Honor Flight Northern Colorado. Below is a list of those involved and they are all in Windsor so I hope businesses in Fort Collins, Loveland and Greeley step up and do the same. In fact, if you are a local business, let me know and I will be glad to bring you flyers etc. to help you raise donations so you can sponsor miles as well.

In the meantime, if you have a minute, please stop by the following businesses to say thank you and donate a dollar or two. Many think $1 doesn't do any good but when 100 people donate just a $1, it adds up quickly.

  • 7-11 in Windsor at 629 Main Street
  • 7-11 in Erie at 3240 Village Vista Drive
  • 7-11 in Frederick at 6008 Frederick Way
  • T & T Tire in Windsor at 728 Main Street
  • Natural Pet Marketplace at 1550 Main St Unit 130

Megan Woodhull who is the manager at Natural Pet Marketplace in Windsor has always supported our military and our 4-legged service dogs so she is going to match the donations she collects in her store.

Don't forget to make plans to come see me on Saturday May 9 at the 7-11 store in Windsor from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a live broadcast. Lunch is only .50 and all money we collect goes towards this ride. There will also be some honored guests on hand that you will want to meet and thank.

Here are some other ways to get involved and donate some money/sponsor miles:
