I'm not much of a cook but when I do, I need an easy to read cookbook. 'Kitchen Creations to Honor Our Heroes' offers local recipes and easy to read.

I had the pleasure of attending the Honor Flight Northern Colorado reunion BBQ for those of us who were on the 2014 September flight to Washington D.C. this past Sunday, April 12. What a pleasure to see the veterans I had made a bond with, some that will last a lifetime.

It was after the program and lunch that I was browsing around looking at pictures and things being offered to help fund future flights when I ran into Phyllis Minch. Phyllis was there selling the Kitchen Creations to Honor Our Heroes' cookbooks. These cookbooks are comprised of homemade recipes passed down by local residents. Appetizers, snacks, main courses etc. All tried and true and passed down from generation to generation.

In fact, I am going to try my hand at the following,

  • Beer Glazed Ham (What? It has beer in the recipe!)
  • Tex Mex Lasagne
  • Beer Bread (I love beer and bread...hellooooooo)
  • Moon Cake
  • Hot Butter Dips

The cookbook is also full of helpful hints and shortcuts from the authors who have lived through these recipes and dealt with the fine-tuning of their perfection.

To order a cookbook, just send a check or money order for $15 to Gamma Chi Chapter #3668, 1805 Bonny Dr. Loveland, Colorado 80538.
