We are less than 90 days away from the Taste of Country Concerts at the Greeley Stampede. Are you ready? I cannot wait for the stampede this year. I know that it can be very pricey to go to a show these days which is why I am so excited for these shows, not a single ticket is more than $29 and are as low as $22, yes a family of 4 could still see a show for under $100! We are talking killer shows from top notch artists performing songs full of fun and memories.

I remember just starting at K99 back in the late 80’s when we got a new record in, yes they were records then, by a new artist named Clint Black called Better Man. That song lit me and the phone lines up and helped start the country music explosion that brought us Garth, Clint, Brooks and Dunn and many others. Clint has earned his legendary status with decades of hits since. Clint will be paired with new comer Josh Kelley, who is riding high with his debut hit “Georgia Clay” from his CD which hit the stores last week, on June 25th.

Who can forget the first time they heard “Watching You” from Rodney Atkins? This song has gotten so many requests over the last couple of years, most kids know it as “the chicken nugget song” and I know it has been responsible for many parents paying attention to what they say and do in front of their kids. Rodney has added an impressive string of memorable hits to go with “Watching You”, like “These Are My People”, “Cleaning This Gun”, “Farmer’s Daughter” and many others. Rodney will be teamed with Little Big Town on June 24th. LBT are one of the most amazing live bands you could ever hear, the harmonies will literally melt your socks. It is one of those shows where you feel privileged to be in the audience and have your ears feasting on such a treat. I guarantee that you will be a lifetime fan of LBT once you see them live, if you have already experienced a LBT show, then you already have your tickets.

Chris Young came on the scene back in 2006 when he was the winner of Nashville Star and you would’ve thought success would immediately follow but it took a couple years for Chris to hit his stride and he sure did hit it with the CD “The Man I Want To Be” which logged 3 number one hits, the title cut, “Getting’ You Home” and “Voices” and has the new CD “Neon” coming out this summer, featuring his next number one “Tomorrow”, which my daughter refers to as the “fire and gasoline” song. Chris will share the stage with Steel Magnolia who won the CMT Can You Duet competition and had the monster hit “Keep On Loving You” as well as the current smash “Last Night Again”, that’s 2 award winning acts on one night for one great price.

I already have the hair but will have to break out the spandex for the rocking show on the 2nd of July with Cheap Trick and Blue Oyster Cult, okay I will pass on the spandex. This show will be incredible, I have seen Cheap Trick many times through the years, most recently 2 years ago in Las Vegas where I saw them perform the entire Beatles Sgt Pepper album and they were as good or better than ever. I have never seen BOC live but believe me, I will have my cowbell ready for “Don’t Fear The Reaper”.
