Lauren Alaina’s ‘Like My Mother Does’ Video Premieres [VIDEO]
Your long wait is over, Lauren Alaina fans: the video for her first single, ‘Like My Mother Does,’ is finally here.
The clip premiered Monday and, like the song, it’s a sentimental affair, featuring scenes of Alaina reminiscing as she leafs through family photos — and finishing with a shot of the ‘American Idol’ runner-up and her real-life mom.
The third time is the charm for ‘Like My Mother Does,’ which was previously recorded twice: in 2010, by Atlantic Nashville artist Jesse Lee, and in 2008, by fellow ‘Idol’ contestant Kristy Lee Cook. Neither of those versions cracked the Billboard country charts, but Alaina’s recording debuted at number 49.
Alaina is currently on the road with this year’s American Idols LIVE! tour, which runs through the end of September. She’s also working on her first album for Mercury Nashville.
