Larimer Humane Society Wants Tax Dollars for New Shelter
In a perfect world there would not be a glut of unwanted cats and dogs. Irresponsible people would not breed litters that have little chance for a happy future. We would not need agencies to clean up the messes that humans have made. The Larimer Humane Society needs our support now.
The Larimer Humane Society wants to ask voters for money to build a new animal shelter, however, the organization is struggling to get on the ballot. The group needs 11,263 petition signatures to get on the November ballot. Officials said they expect to fall short because of a counting error. On Tuesday, Humane Society officials asked Larimer County Commissioners to refer the issue to the ballot. The group is also asking community members to show their support by contacting the commissioners.
