Have you ever wanted to really get a hands on look at what goes on with the Sheriff's Office in Larimer County? You now have a chance with their Citizens Academy.

As the Reporter-Herald told us, LCSO officials are now accepting applications for the fall Citizens Academy. This program runs September 15th through December 8th.

We have all seen TV shows about the police and probably have seen some of the action in real life. But do you really know what all goes on or what it takes to make those split second decisions?

This program will give students a hands-on look into the operations of the Sheriff’s Office. Including a tour of the Larimer County Jail and emergency communications center, a canine demonstration and the opportunity to ride along with a deputy.

The classes will be Tuesday nights from 6:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. at a cost of $30.00, which includes a shirt and covers other costs.

Ready to sign up? Hurry, it is limited to 35 students. Sign up at http://larimersheriff.org/site-page/citizens-academy.
