Susan Moore 1st reported the crash of a small plane crash in Larimer County yesterday afternoon.  The crash happened near County Road 5 and County Road 40. We now have pictures of that crash thanks to Poudre Fire Authority.

According to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office,  deputies along with Poudre Fire Authority and Poudre Valley Ambulance responded to the crash around 1:00 p.m. yesterday. The 69-year-old male pilot of the downed aircraft walked away from the crash but was transported to Poudre Valley Hospital with minor injuries.

Apparently, the pilot was attempting to land the plane on an unpaved airstrip on his own property but decided at the last minute to make another approach. As he was trying to gain altitude to attempt another landing he hit some trees causing the plane to crash.

According to the release,  Poudre Fire Authority's prompt response helped prevent a fire as they controlled the fuel leaking from the plane.
