Larimer County May Outlaw Panning Gold
The thought of prospecting conjures up Yosemite Sam. Who knew panning for gold is still a popular past time for many people in Colorado? Larimer County is considering outlawing the panning of gold on county property. Larimer County commissioners could sign off on the recommended rule changes.
Then, panning for gold will no longer be allowed in waters located on any Department of Natural Resources property, including Glade Park and River Bluffs Open Space. According to the Loveland Reporter Herald: The Larimer County Parks Advisory Board has recommended the county add “minerals” to the list of what cannot removed, collected or destroyed. Vegetation, signs, fences and buildings are already on that list.
