Kix Brooks Back On Track – Releases “Bring It On Home” [VIDEO] [POLL]
Kix Brooks, half of the multi-talented “Brooks and Dunn,” has won more CMA and ACM awards than any other act in the history of country music. But it wasn’t that way as an early solo act and now Kix Brooks is back to being a solo artist with more experience under his belt than just about anyone.
As half of Brooks and Dunn, they have won the CMA ‘Vocal Duo Of The Year‘ award every year since they debuted in 1991 except in 2000 when Montgomery Gentry won and Sugarland in 2007 and 2009. Kix Brooks has helped sell over 30 million records over the course of time and with the success of Ronnie Dunn’s solo career we can only hope that Kix too finds the success he so deserves.
We all remember the farewell tour in 2010 and the the immediate lauch of Dunn’s solo career while Kix Brooks took a breath and geared for the debut of his solo career just this year.
The new album is called “New To This Town” and was released as a 12-track album September 11. 9 of the songs were co-written by Brooks, including the album’s first single and title track and a tune that features the legendary Joe Walsh. I would hope to see a heavy dose of touring to support the album but as of now there are only 3 dates listed. If that changes we’ll let you know because we know many of you, including me, who would love to see him.
