It was on this date in 1964 that Roger Miller holed up in a studio in Nashville and recorded the country classic 'King of the Road'. There are very few humans or even animals that have not heard that song. There is not a singer or musician in country music who has not performed that song. There is not a person of my age who didn't hear their parents and drunken aunts and uncles sing this at the top of their lungs growing up.

Today marks the 51st anniversary of 'King of the Road' so I went on a mission to find a few cover versions of it along with the original from Roger Miller. Enjoy some classic country!
