Jason Aldean Says Stadium Tour Is ‘Next Logical Step’

Jason Aldean is at the top of his game right now, the proof being in his recently sold-out stadium show at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. While the remainder of 2012 consists of arena shows on his My Kinda Party Tour, Aldean says to expect bigger and better soon — maybe as soon as next year.

“It was kind of something we wanted to test out this year,” Aldean tells Taste of Country of the decision to play a single stadium show this year. “Obviously we knew that the shows were doing well. We were selling out amphitheaters and getting to the point where we could sell out two nights at the same amphitheater. I think that the next logical step is to try [more stadium shows] and see what happens. It’s in the plans for sure.”

However, the ‘Fly Over States’ hitmaker says he doesn’t mind easing into things. “I think with stuff like that you have to be really careful to not get too far ahead of yourself and try to prove a point,” he explains. “I think it’s got to make sense. It’s got to be the right time. So far, everything’s been going great. I think it’s the next logical step. At that same time, I don’t want to rush it to the point where we make a mistake trying to do that and have to end up going backwards instead of going forward.”

He adds, “When it’s time and we feel like we can pull it off, I’d love to play stadiums on a consistent basis. It’s definitely in the plans; we’ll just see what happens.”

Before he takes the leap, Aldean will continue his streak of selling out shows on the My Kinda Party Tour. This week, the tour makes three stops in Florida. Click here for a full list of dates where the tour will be stopping.
