We have been doing some remodeling and cleaning up around my house. We knew before we could finish the inside that we needed to clean the garage to make room for some of the inside stuff. My garage was clean at one time but it seems like whenever something new comes into the house the things it replaced end up piled up in the garage. I find boxes and bags mysteriously appearing on a weekly basis. It had gotten to point where I could barely fit my motorcycle in the garage without having to butter it first to help slide it in.

Yesterday at noon I had the brilliant idea to take absolutely everything out of the garage, put it in the driveway and then assess what would go back inside, what would be tossed and what would be donated. I thought it would take a couple hours. I was wrong! I had no idea how much crap I had in there. I kept loading the driveway with stuff and telling every car that stopped by that it wasn't a garage sale and there was nothing there to purchase. One lady told me I should've had a sign up that said "this is not a garage sale" so she wouldn't have had to waste her time. She was mad at me for cleaning my garage!

Last night at about 9:30 p.m., we finally wrapped it up. It isn't completely done, but I have a ton more room for my bike, I can actually walk through my garage without getting hurt and I got rid of about 2 to 3 pounds of mouse turds. They had obviously invaded a few boxes. Be careful when you start emptying your garage. You could be busy from sunrise to sunset moving stuff and convincing your neighbors that nothing is for sale.
