There are few things better on a rainy, snowy or for that matter, sunny day, than a grilled cheese sandwich. If it is snowing and you couple it with tomato soup, it is pure heaven. Today is the day to celebrate that delicious treat as it is National Grilled Cheese Day!

When I make a grilled cheese I make sure to cover every millimeter of bread with butter evenly so it browns up beautifully. A properly made grilled cheese sandwich is like artwork. The kind of cheese you put inside is the key. I am partial to plain old American but have no trouble feasting on a Velveeta grilled cheese.
