Is This The End Of The Line For Duck Dynasty On A&E? [POLL]
Wow! Talk about a media storm today. We all know where Phil Robertson stands, but what is the future for the Duck Commander legend’s TV life?
The A&E Network have recently suspended Phil Robertson of the hit show Duck Dynasty as you have probably heard by now. Mr. Robertson, who is a devote Christian was recently interviewed by GQ magazine and gave his opinion/answers on a couple topics that set off a couple minority groups. The initial backlash that got Robertson suspended was his comments on homosexuality, which according the bible, were deadly accurate.
He refused to apologize. Good! If anyone is culpable in all this it’s GQ for asking a question THEY KNEW the answer to. You don’t think they knew this would cause a backlash?
Today, Black leaders across the country are also calling for his ouster on what he said about being a kid and working with blacks in the fields,
Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them. I’m with the blacks, because we’re white trash. They’re singing and happy. I never heard one of them, one black person, say, ‘I tell you what: These doggone white people’—not a word!… Pre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues – Phil Robertson, GQ interview
He refused to apologize to these black leaders as well.
So back to the point. What will A&E do. What will the rest of the Robertson’s do? Mark my word, you will never see another episode of Duck Dynasty on the A&E network. If anyone thinks Silas and the Robertson boys are going to film one more episode you’re kidding yourself. Let’s face it, there are a half dozen networks already working that angle including Glen Beck who has already offered the family a spot on his network.
I stand up today and applaud Phil Robertson for everyone to see. Yes Sir I do! He is a man of wisdom and great faith and I probably can’t say that for those trying to hang him from a tree. These minority groups are allowed to get away with just about anything they want or they cry foul but when a man of God gives his opinion against their viewpoints all hell breaks loose? Really?
What’s good for the goose is good for the gander but mark my words, A&E just killed their cash cow and burned the burger!
