The "A" above Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium

Every year a group of CSU students gather to whitewash the "A" on the side of the hill above Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium.  It's a tradition that has continued at Colorado State since 1924, but is it a tradition that needs to go away?  Please answer our poll.

This past weekend over 150 students volunteered to paint the "A".  it is 450 feet high and 210 feet wide. You can see it from miles away. It is one of the most recognizable icons in Fort Collins. It is a time honored tradition.

I am a huge Rams fan! However, when I was a student at CSU (1987) I always thought it was kind of silly that we still had an "A" above stadium.  Why not "R" for Rams or "C" for CSU?  We haven't been the Aggies since 1946.  there is definitely something to be said for tradition, but is it time to move on? When they build the new on-campus stadium, will tradition just go away on its own?

I don't know the answer, but would love your opinion.
