I'm a movie freak. I pride myself about knowing movie trivia, and knowing what is coming to theaters. However I had no idea that this movie was in the works, or even far enough along to have a trailer.

So apparently the next installment of the Rocky franchise isn't following the exploits of the Italian Stallion, but the spawn of the Master of Disaster, Apollo Creed. Creed's son, Adonis... yes, Adonis... played by Michael B. Jordan, as an up-and-coming boxer who enlists the help of Balboa to be his mentor and trainer. When I first saw the title of the movie I thought they may be going way back in the form of a "prequel" showing the rise of Apollo. However that obviously wouldn't have worked, since there's no way they would have made this movie without the Stallion.

Honestly, I loved the first few Rocky movies but quickly got tired of the series as the aging Stallone kept finding his way back into the ring. As long as he keeps the gloves off, I may find myself enjoying a fresh new angle, with the possibility of a new franchise focusing on the younger Creed, starring one of Hollywoods new rising stars.
