Authorities need your help catching a thief who entered vehicle and home in Weld County, taking off with a large amount of money.

According to a news release, the Weld County Sheriff's Office investigated an auto vehicle prowl and residential burglary in the 21000 block of WCR 80 on Sunday, September 4. The suspect had entered an unlocked pickup in front of the residence sometime between noon and 4 p.m. that day and took items from the vehicle. The suspect then entered the residence through an unlocked door and left with a large sum of money stored in a room directly past the door.

Homeowners said they noticed a white pickup truck of an unknown make in the area around the time the incident occurred. Investigators believe neighbors may have seen the same truck that afternoon, which is described as a newer white Dodge Ram with notable side mount black plastic tool boxes along the rear bed rails (pictured).

In the meantime, the WCSO also cautions residents to be aware of vehicles stopping in front of their residences, driving excessively slowly through their neighborhoods, and those making multiple slow passes through neighborhoods. They also urge residents to lock their homes and vehicles at all times.
