Kenny Rogers recently retired from touring and hung up his microphone, but boy did he leave a wealth of musical currency for us to spend on our ears. He had hits in six decades...SIX DECADES! That is just unheard of. It is amazing to remain relevant for so many years and Kenny Rogers is one of the very few to do it.

Kenny had his first number one hit on the country charts back in 1977 with the unforgettable classic "Lucille" and would follow with countless others. He hit the top of the charts for the last time, so far, in the year 2000 with the heart tugging "Buy Me a Rose". This song taught a very simple and valuable lesson for those in relationships. It reminded us to make sure we let those we love know we are thinking of them, love them and appreciate them and that it doesn't take much to show it. Thanks for the reminder Kenny. Here are those first and last number ones.
