Banning extra large soda's, really?  Does big brother want us to believe that large soda's are the nuclei of world destruction?

Large Soda Ban
loading...

I could take the twisted road of politics on this topic, but after watching this craziness on the       The Daily Show... well... I have decided to laugh.

If a 32oz soda is the cause of obesity then the world will now be saved thanks to New York Mayor Bloomberg. He is proposing a ban on the extra large sodas at deli's and concession stands and other extra large soda outlets.

What I find funny is that at the same deli I may have once gotten a 32oz soda, can I not still get a Meatball sandwich at anywhere from 679 calories to 1400? If I go to the deli can I still get an Italian sub with 850 calories and 72 grams of carbohydrates? When at the concession stand will I still be able to get a chili cheese dog with 670 calories and 43 grams of fat and 41 grams of carbohydrates? Of course I will... you can too-you just cannot have a 32oz soda at 413 calories and 112 grams of carbohydrates.

Slightly political... you knew I couldn't not go there... The destruction of the world isn't found in a soda or and ice cream or a foot long coney island dog... it's in personal accountability... the more choices taken away from us and big brother laws shoved down our throat the less accountability placed on us as individuals and the greater the chance for human fail. :(

Now do I think that you should gulp down a 32 oz soda everyday, nope...nor do I think that you should have a triple cheeseburger or three baskets of bottomless fries... but then again I don't think that we should play in the sun without sunscreen, drive without seat belts, rollerblade in the street, cliff dive, downhill ski a black course, golf or deep sea dive... but we do! :)

Moderation... apply moderation in all that you do and be smart-period! And when you aren't smart, don't do it again and don't beat yourself up!

-End Scene!

ps... yes, tonight, I will have a large Coca Cola Icee with my large buttered popcorn while watching 'Snow White and the Huntsman'. :) (yes the ban will include movie theatres-so drink up while you can)
