I love to nap. I rarely get to but it is one of my favorite things to do. The problem is, that it seems like every time I lay down for one, some kind of crazy stuff will happen. I have slept and woke up to find that severe weather has toppled a tree in the yard, or the police were just up the street arresting a neighbor or Michael Jackson died. These are all things that have happened during my naps so I am afraid to go to sleep in the day.

Just the other day I fell asleep and when I woke up my family was gone. Turns out they were on their way home from heading to the Brighton area from some kind of critter rescue where they had brought a baby squirrel they had found in the backyard. They found a baby and felt the need to rescue it. I would have sent the dog outside to enjoy a snack but they have bigger hearts than I do. The last thing I need is another squirrel running around my yard but the Dr. Doolittle's I live with had other plans.

They wrapped the little guy in a blanket and put him in box and hit the road to the rescue. My wife had visions of the squirrel waking up and going crazy in the car, running around and climbing her face as she drove but was willing to take the risk. As they were heading to the rescue they asked my grandson Zander what the squirrels name was and he replied 'Zander Jr'. The rescue got my wife's email address and phone number so they can give us updates on 'Jr' and want to know if we want to bring him back and let him go in his known habitat. I am okay with the squirrel relocating and starting a new life. If you see a squirrel named Junior show up in your yard and start causing problems...l am sorry. You can blame my family.
