Racism makes me sick and I feel we all need to do our part in the fight against it. I had an opportunity yesterday to make a statement and I missed it. I am not a fan of racist humor in the least bit. Racial humor can be funny at times but racist humor is something completely different.

I was manning our booth yesterday and had lots of folks gathered around chatting when a lady came up and said hello and talked a bit. When she went to leave, she said "I have a joke for you" and went on to tell me an offensive racist joke. I just turned away from her and started talking to the other folks there. I didn't give her the time of day after the joke was told. What I should have done was told her in front of everyone there that I didn't think it was funny and that I would appreciate it she never told me another one. I kick myself for not making that vocal stand.

Too many people just turn their heads and walk away or fake a laugh. I will never do that. I am insulted if someone thinks that I am the kind of guy who would find it funny. I do not. I vow from this day forward that if someone comes up to me in person or calls in and tells me a racist joke I will call you out on it. Please keep them to yourself. I do not want to hear it. I'll show myself out.
