Hurricane Irene Forces Kenny Chesney To Reschedule Concert

Hurricane Irene is churning towards the U.S. East Coast and it has many major cities in its cross-hairs, including the Boston area where Kenny Chesney has decided to move up his concert scheduled for Sunday at Gillette Stadium (Home of the New England Patriots), to this Friday night in an effort to avoid the storm.
The reaction among fans was … not the most positive. Despite the obvious restrictions of holding an outdoor concert in a waning hurricane, fans took to Chesney’s Facebook page to gripe about the change of plans.
In the wake of the grumbles, USA Today reports that StubHub is now offering refunds to those uninterested in attending or unable to secure a babysitter.
Hurricane Irene is currently a category-3 storm, and expected to make initial U.S. landfall in the Carolinas on Saturday.
