The 1st time I met the new Mayor of Fort Collins, I embarrassed myself. It's really no surprise. I am a big dork. I freely admit that.

My wife and I were at The Mathews House annual fundraiser "Cultivate Hope". I ran into my long-time friend Craig Secher, President and Founder of Realities For Children. At the time, Craig was talking with newly elected Mayor, Wade Troxell, about being involved with the upcoming Realities Ride. Craig was gracious enough to introduce me to Mayor Troxell.

It was then that I remembered my Father-in-law had told me that he had worked with Mr. Troxell at Kodak for a short time, many years ago. I was going to impress the Mayor with this Kevin-Bacon-Six-Degrees-of-Separation tidbit of information. Instead, I blurted out loudly, "My Wife's Husband used to work with you". I tried to correct myself, but by then it was too late. He could clearly see, I was an idiot.

The good Mayor was still kind enough to pose for a picture with me.
