Not too long ago, Todd Harding did some research and made a list of the top 5 crops that farmers raise in Weld County.  These included:

1. Wheat
2. Corn
3. Alfalfa/Hay
4. Sugar Beets
5. Dry Beans

On top of that, more research (all thanks to the USDA, the National Agriculture Statistics Service and CSU Extension Office in Weld County) showed that Weld County is the 17th largest dairy producing county in the U.S., and the top dairy-producing county in Colorado.

Because the AgriCulture Fest and Feast is happening this weekend (August 27th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM), we decided to highlight some of the crops you may see featured at the fest and show you what to do with them.

There are a few stipulations here-- one, we're pretty sure you're not supposed to eat hay, so that was left off the list.  Two, because sugar beets are hard to find and mainly assist in sugar production, we decided to go with regular beets instead. And three-- dairy is a big part of the agricultural climate of Weld County, so we threw that in the video as well!

We hope we helped you think of some ideas for your next dinner party, and we also hope you have an awesome time at the AgriCulture Fest and Feast trying out these crops for yourself as well as enjoying live music, a petting zoo, the beer and spirit garden, and more.

We'll see you there!
