A 44-year-old drunk transient was arrested for tackling and destroying a horse statue in Old Town, Fort Collins.

According to the Coloradoan, Wesley White told police he drank plenty of whiskey and thought he could "wrangle" the bright blue-and-yellow horse known as Caballo de Colorado in the alley between Bondi Beach Bar and CooperSmith's Pub and Brewing Co.

White faces criminal mischief charges after allegedly irreparably damaging the sculpture. Witnesses say he tried to get on the horse, but its hoof snapped. The sculpture, which has a Fiberglas shell, was created by artist Amy Brackenbury and stood on its hind legs in Old Town Square for seven years.  The horse cannot be fixed.

Please people, let's try to keep Old Town a "wrangle free" zone.
