The next Northern Colorado Honor Flight is scheduled for Sunday, September 15th. You've heard me talk about them now for several years and if you have never done one, you have no idea what you're missing out on.  The format this year though is very different.
185 WWII, Korean War and those who have earned a Purple Heart from the Vietnam War will be heading to Washington D.C. to pay their respects at their memorials.

Veterans and their families, the Patriot Guard and motorcycle riders from all over will converge again on the Embassy Suites in Loveland (4705 Clydesdale Parkway) on Sunday September 15th.  The parade ride will escort these warrior and hero's to DIA for their flight to Washington D.C.

The Patriot Guard Riders of Colorado, the official motorcycle escort for these honored Veterans, will be on site at 6:00 AM and the honorary flag line starts at 6:30 AM as the Veterans arrive. You do not have to be a member of the PGR to stand with your flag in the flag line.

Veterans will be checking in at 6:30 AM for registration and to receive their travel instructions at the Embassy Suites Hotel. The official escort ride will leave promptly at 8:30 AM for the escort to the Signature FBO hangar at DIA.

This year will be different due to the accidents that happened on the last ride. ONLY the PGR will be allowed to ride in front of the Veterans buses...all other riders will follow BEHIND the buses this year to DIA.

FOR PGR ESCORT ONLY - In order to ride in the escort to DIA, you must attend both riders briefs and stand in the flag line. If you miss the briefings you will not be allowed to ride in the actual escort - no exceptions. The first brief will be held at 6:00 AM and the second briefing held by the Larimer County Sheriffs office will be held 15 minutes before departure. You DO NOT have to be an official PGR member but if you want to ride in the actual escort, you will need to follow the PGR protocol. (See above)
