Home Depot has announced that 56 million credit or debit cards may have been hacked when they had a system breach.

As the Denver Channel reported, if you shopped at Home Depot between April and September of 2014, you could be affected, as some of the payment terminals were infected by custom-built malware.

Home Depot is say that there is no evidence currently that any debit card PIN numbers were compromised. Online shoppers were not affected by the breach.

The chain is offering credit monitoring and identity protection to customers who shopped at the store any time after April 2014.

You may recall the recent data breach that happened at Target.  That affected between 70 and 110 million customers.
