Heavy snow means two things today: heavy in amount and due to high moisture content, heavy in weight. Some power outages have been caused throughout the Poudre Valley REA's 2,000 square mile service territory affecting approximately 5,000 PVREA consumers. Outages have primarily taken place in the northern foothills with areas most affected north and west of Fort Collins as well as the Livermore and Carter Lake areas. All available crews have been dispatched to effect repairs. At this time there are no estimates as to when all power will be restored. A map display showing current outage locations is available for viewing at www.pvrea.com.

CEO Brad Gaskill said,

Our crews have been working continuously since the first outages were reported late last night,We are grateful to our hard working and dedicated team members as they battle this storm on behalf of our co-op families. We urge everyone to avoid downed power lines or any areas where trees are in contact with lines or other electrical equipment.  The safety of our crews and our consumers is the most important consideration as we work to restore power.
