Sadly, the loss of life continues in 'Operation Enduring Freedom.' Since last Monday’s post, five (5) more have given their all. The silver lining to this cloud is that a charity has stepped up to pay the death benefits that the Government currently can't do. Lopez was assigned to the 201st Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Knox, Ky.

Moreno was assigned to Madigan Army Medical Center, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. Also killed was Sgt. Patrick C. Hawkins, Sgt. Joseph M. Peters and Pfc. Cody J. Patterson.
