Having a Bad Day? Get on the Floor and Play – Brian’s Blog

I just had a great weekend. I didn't really go anywhere, just hung at home and enjoyed the family and some down time. I got to go watch my grandson Zander play soccer and the playing never stopped. Zander was just awesome all weekend. The key to the fun was getting on the floor and playing.

My wife sent my daughter up in the attic to pull down some old toys my son Nick used to play with when he was a little boy. Nick was heavily into Ninja Turtles and Batman. We had a Batman play set and a bunch of Ninja Turtle vehicles stored away and since Zander loves Batman and the turtles we decided to let him play with the 20+ year old toys. He was in heaven and so were we. My wife got the floor and played with him for hours. It was so fun to sit and listen to them play. Hearing the sound of joy in a child is the greatest thing in the world. I fell in love with him all over again this weekend. If you need a lift, get down on the floor and play with a child. They know fun and can show you what it is like to be carefree again. Thank you Zander. You showed me a great time.
