Ahhh yes...the glory years of the Colorado Rockies. Pictures like the one above are only memories in our minds now.

For those of you new to the Rocky Mountain state, the Rockies have provided many opportunities for us to be proud of them. Whether it was their World Series appearance in 2007 (only to get swept by the Boston Red Sox) or their playoff appearances in 1995 and 2009, they have provided excitement to Colorado.

Let's not forget some of the great players that have suited up to play at Coors Field. Larry Walker, Tulo, Todd Helton, Vinny Castilla, Dante Bichette...the list goes on and on.

But here we are, heading into another MLB postseason with our beloved Rockies sitting on the outside looking in with no excitement being generated for the future.

So to hear the news that ESPN reported yesterday that manager Walt Weiss will be brought back for the 2016 season was actually surprising...and disappointing. The Rockies are 208-278 under the tutelage of Weiss and this season they looked like there was no energy coming out of the clubhouse.

Does that warrant the ability to return to your job for another year?

For most managers in baseball, they would've probably been sent to the unemployment line and would be looking for their next first base coach job. But not in Colorado, where the question is asked..."Does It Even Matter Who Coaches This Team"?

Not saying that I don't think the team needs a change in leadership. Because I think it rightfully does.

Think of the baseball managers who are out there that could probably guide the Rockies to a better record than this season...

Torey Luvollo of the Boston Red Sox...Look what he did filling in for John Farrell this year. He DESERVES to be a full time manager and has the fire to make the Rockies stronger.

Hell...can we bring Clint Hurdle back??

Problem is...this is the Rockies. And whether it is the fault of ownership or the General Manager, this team is going nowhere...fast.

As soon as Tulo was traded this Summer, we knew the past glory years were behind us. Now the team has a chance to create new glory days.

The problem is...this is the same old Colorado Rockies.

And with that...things will still be the same. Whether Walt Weiss is the manager or not...
