Paranormal activity ranges from the ghost of a 10-year-old boy who drowned in the hotel's pool in 1936. To a broken hearted man wandering the hallways sobbing after his love's father refused to let her marry him. To a former hotel maid who turns down beds as a way to announce she's in the room (she could come live at my house if she announces herself by cleaning). The Hotel Jerome is located on Main Street in Aspen and was built in the 1880s.

The hotel did a renovation a few years ago, during which the hotel's historian, Julia Kanellos, conducted tours highlighting stories from some of the hotel's former residents. That's when the weird stuff begins. Paranormal activity surrounds Room 904 that once housed Mrs. Louise Crawford Hill. Mrs. Hill was once a very prominent member of Denver Society. The hotel's dining room is also to have paranormal activity. The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa has been open since August 12, 1892.

While hauntings can happen any time of day, guests and staff at Hotel Colorado have reported the most activity between 2-4 a.m. Moving elevators with no passengers, cigar smoke in the air when no cigar smoker is present, random whiffs of perfume and the sounds of dishes being shuffled around with no person present. Screams throughout the hallway, unexplained knocks, unidentifiable smells, sounds and lights. The hotel has been open since 1891.
