Happy Birthday to the Legendary Mr. Merle Haggard [VIDEO]

Merle Haggard is one of the most legendary figures in all of music. Every country artist owes a debt of gratitude to Merle. He was one of the original people who made country cool. I was very proudly raised listening to the working man poetry of the Hag.

Today is Merle's birthday. He was born on this date in Bakersfield, California back on 1937 making him 78 years old today. He was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1994 and deserves his own wing there. Here a few of my all time favorites from Merle to celebrate his big day.
