When K99 was born in the late 1980's I remember being on the air and learning all the new artists and songs of the format. There was one guy whose music I was introduced to that made me an instant fan. That guy was Steve Earle. I loved his raw sound and could feel the drive and realness in his music. I played "Guitar Town" over and over and nearly blew out every speaker I owned when I would jam to "Copperhead Road". I still can't find a volume loud enough when I play that one.

Today that country outlaw celebrates his 63rd year on this earth. Happy birthday Mr. Earle. Thank you for all the great songs and honesty. I picked a few of my favorites from Steve to celebrate the occasion. Raise your glass today to a true rebel soul. Crank it up!
