From the first time I heard that voice, that twang and that rocking guitar, I was hooked on Dwight Yoakam. It was back in 1986 when my ears were treated to the sound of a song called "Honky Tonk Man" and they have been tuned into Dwight ever since. He is one of those artists whose music I will buy whenever he releases it. I have yet to hear a Yoakam song I do not like.

Today Dwight turns 62 years old and still sounds as good as ever. I am going to spend the day with some guitars, Cadillacs and hillbilly music. Happy birthday Dwight. Keep that Bakersfield sound coming.
