Randy Travis rarely gets the credit he deserves for making country music so popular. Randy was the first country artist to regularly get awarded gold and platinum albums for record sales. Randy made country cool in the mid 80's with his traditional sound. He appealed to the masses like no one before him. The popularity of country music today is a product of the hard work and music that Randy gave us.
