Here’s your chance to learn more about Greeley’s history. The Greeley Historic Preservation Commission continues the free History Brown Bag Series held on the 4th Thursday of each month through October, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., at the Greeley History Museum, 714 8th Street. The fourth Brown Bag session will be on Thursday, May 24th, during which Mike and Barbara Webb will present about Ghost Signs. Ghost signs are painted brick wall advertising signs that are faded and often painted over. Participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch.

The History Brown Bag Series provides citizens the chance to hear interesting historical topics, primarily focused on Greeley and Weld County, and promotes local cultural heritage.

The History Brown Bag schedule for the remainder of 2012 is as follows:

  • May 24: Ghost Signs, Mike and Barbara Webb
  • June 28: Rattlesnake Kate, Tannis Bator
  • July 26: What the Colorado Plains Meant to James Michener, Professor Michael Welsh
