The Greeley Stampede is providing a free lunch and concert on Friday, June 17th in downtown Greeley to kick off the 89th annual Greeley Stampede. The community appreciation barbecue will be held in Lincoln Park for the first 300 guests. It will start at 11:30am and will go until 1pm, or until the food runs out.

Guests will be treated to hamburgers or chicken breasts, ribs, and traditional barbecue side dishes. Complimentary Powerade and Honest Tea beverages will be offered along with Meadow Gold ice cream & Popsicles for dessert.

During the barbecue, the 2011 Stampede Foundation scholarship recipients will be announced. Guests will also be able to try the Colorado National Guard climbing wall and meet Bucky, the Stampede mascot. Seating space will be limited, so guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to use during the luncheon.

Later that evening, the Greeley Stampede will provide a free concert in downtown Greeley on the 9th Street Plaza. Steve Havens and the Mad Cow Posse will perform from 6-9pm. The Stampede Troupe will also perform several songs from their upcoming dinner theater show, Ring of Fire CASH.

The winners of the Stampede Western Window Decorating Contest will be announced during the concert.
