Our family loves to bike around on trails and in our neighborhood. It's fun. The City of Greeley understands that. They have their first family bike ride of the season coming up Tuesday, May 10th and on the first Tuesday of every month this summer. The rides go through a city park and provide safe routes through neighborhoods. There are also safety talks. If you need to borrow a bike, that can happen too.

The City of Greeley kicks off the City sponsored Family Rides Tuesday, May 10th at 6:30 p.m. beginning at East Memorial Park, E. 22nd St. & Balsam Avenue. Staff from several City departments, Weld County Public Health and Environment, and Turn Around Bikes will be on hand to guide the three-mile tour, talk about bike riding safety, and make minor bike repairs and adjustments.  In addition, Turn Around Bikes will provide several bikes for kids and a few bikes for adults to borrow for this ride.

Beginning in May on the first Tuesday of every month this summer, the City of Greeley will sponsor these bike rides.  Each ride is designed to show off a City Park and safe routes from the neighborhood.  In addition, City staff will talk about bike and traffic safety rules, unique features and history of neighborhoods and share information on Greeley’s “Road to Gold” Bicycle Plan.  The rides are designed for anyone interested in dusting off their old bikes and getting back on the road and families with children.

Wearing helmets will be strongly encouraged and we will be giving away twenty helmets to the first riders who do not own one.
