It has become almost comical to read about some of the bizarre calls that dispatchers and law enforcement encounter. From pigs to passion check out Greeley-Evans log.

As the Greeley Tribune reported, these are some of the interesting calls that came through the Greeley-Evans dispatch center for March 9th through the 20th.

Monday, March 9

8 a.m.: Greeley police responded to the 400 block of 11th Avenue on a report of people loitering in front of and urinating on a building while waiting to be hired by someone to work.

Tuesday, March 10

12:15 a.m.: Greeley police responded to the 700 block of 25th Street to check on a questionable character who was making odd comments about Satan.

10:30 a.m.: A caller apologized to the Greeley Police Department even though he said he was assaulted by an officer. The caller told dispatch he had already talked to the Weld District Attorney’s Office about filing charges, but wanted other officers to know they were still his friends.

Wednesday, March 11

6:15 a.m.: Greeley police responded to the 600 block of 8th Avenue for a report of two men not properly dressed for the weather entering an apartment building with stereo equipment and a bicycle. The caller identified himself as an attorney who had developed a sixth sense for suspicious activity.

Saturday, March 14

11:30 a.m.: A caller told Evans police he was having a 1969 Chevrolet towed because it parked three inches from his truck, and he couldn’t get out of his parking space.

Sunday, March 15

5:15 p.m.: Evans police responded to a residence on Carson Avenue for a report of suspicious feces found on a candle stick and a lead pipe lying next to a trap door. Once on scene, officers were unable to locate the suspicious feces and the trap door was actually an entrance to a crawl space.

St. Patrick’s Day

6:15 p.m.: A resident of Carson Avenue reported to Evans police there was an injured raccoon behind his dumpster. The caller wanted to know if he could “put it out of its misery.” The man was warned about discharging a firearm within city limits.

10:45 a.m.: Greeley police responded to the 2000 block of 31st Street for a report of a “farm pig the size of a motorcycle that had been squealing all morning.” When officers arrived, the potbelly pig had been moved inside, but police did warn the owners that they could be cited for disturbing the peace if additional complaints are made.

11 p.m.: Greeley police responded to the 300 block of 8th Street for a report of a man who was lost and couldn’t find his way home because he lost his glasses. The man told police he had been drinking all day, got into a fight with his girlfriend and took a nap in a cornfield. He was taken to North Colorado Medical Center.

Thursday, March 19

2:45 a.m.: Evans police responded to a motel in the 800 block of 31st Street for a report of a child screaming. Officers responded to the scene, but could not locate a screaming child. They did speak to a man in the parking lot who said he and his girlfriend had just done the deed and that she can be a screamer in the bedroom.

Friday, March 20

2:15 p.m.: Evans police responded to Antelope Way for a report of an elderly man wandering around on the street. Officers responded and learned the man had just received a new prosthetic and was just out getting exercise.
