Monday, May 25

8:15 a.m. Greeley police responded to a church in the 7000 block of 28th Street for a report of a man who found drawings of male private parts in a bible his 3-year-old daughter was looking at during a Sunday service.

10:45 a.m.: Greeley police were asked to call a man who had questions about the legality of owning a slot machine.

2:45 p.m.: A man in the 4300 block of 14th Street Road called Greeley police asking how to obtain a restraining order against someone who had been calling several times late at night and hanging up. The man did not know who the culprit might be.

6:45 p.m.: Greeley police responded to 59th Avenue and 20th Street for a report of a woman who either fell or was thrown from a moving vehicle.

9:30 p.m.: Greeley police responded to a convenience store in the 1400 block of 9th Street after a man walked in and told a clerk, “I have the Devil in me. Call them and tell them to pick me up.”

Tuesday, May 26

7:45 a.m.: Evans police responded to Myrtle Street because a woman wanted to press charges against hospice nurses for not removing a deceased person from her home in a timely manner. The woman was concerned about the safety of herself, her children and the quality of her food for being exposed to a deceased person for an extended period of time. The woman suspected she needed to be hospitalized after the ordeal, but refused medical attention. She eventually agreed to go to the hospital to have her “mental state” checked by a doctor.

8:15 a.m.: Greeley police responded to the 1200 block of 14th Avenue for a report of a baby owl standing in the street. The caller was worried about the owl’s well being. Cops were able to cajole the owl into flying to safety.

Wednesday, May 27

10 a.m.: Greeley police responded to 70th Avenue for a report of a vehicle that had been egged. The caller told dispatchers there is a gang of skateboarding hooligans in the neighborhood whom he yelled at the day before. The caller thought his car had been egged as retaliation.

10:15 a.m.: Greeley police responded to the 1700 block of 30th Street for a report of several stray cats that keep having babies.

11:45 a.m.: Greeley police responded to the 300 block of 9th Avenue for a report of a neighbor stealing another person’s landscaping rocks.

1:45 p.m.: Greeley police responded to the 100 block of 9th Avenue for a man who was ranting about making the city pay for his dog’s impound fees.

7 p.m.: Evans police took a call from a man who wanted to know if someone would be covered by insurance if their name didn’t appear on the card.

10 p.m.: Greeley police responded to a liquor store in the 1500 block of 8th Avenue on a report of an intoxicated man trying to purchase alcohol. The owner criticized police for issuing him a ticket for serving to the same man two days earlier. The owner told police they failed in their duty because they waited to issue a summons until after he illegally sold alcohol to an intoxicated customer.

Thursday, May 28

1 a.m.: Greeley police responded to 21st Street for a report of a man who would not give clothes back to his girlfriend.

1:15 a.m.: Greeley police responded to the 5500 block of 29th Street for a report of people screaming in a hot tub.
