I am in full on water mode as Spring grabs us by the ears trying to get new grass seed up and the trees and shrubs their first good soaking.

Be careful with you watering. The City of Greeley has water restrictions in place starting on April 15 and you could be fined for not adhering to the schedule which is pretty easy to follow. In fact, did you know water restrictions for Greeley have been in place since 1907?

  • Homes ending in even numbers can water on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Homes ending in odd numbers can water on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday
  • Commercial, Multi-Family and Non-Profit can water on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday

No lawn watering is allowed between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. and you can get permission to water more for new lawns"

New lawn variances allow customers additional watering to get newly planted sod or seed established. Greeley requires that the soil be prepared with compost to acquire a variance. Compost must be added at a minimum rate of 4 cubic yards per 1000 square feet of turf and rototilled to a depth of 6 to 8 inches. If compost is not added at the required rate, a variance will not be granted.
