Getting Buried in Leaves Is One of the Pure Joys of Fall [PICTURES]
We just had one of the warmest Octobers in history. It was amazing weather all month and today we usher in November and things will certainly change soon. Since yesterday was the final day of October, my clan and I decided to stay outside and play all day taking in the final day of this unseasonably warm month. The leaves were abundantly covering the ground so it was time to play.
My wife Kyla and I, along with our grandsons Zayden and Zander decided to break out the leaf blower and rakes and create a leaf pile that Charlie Brown would be jealous of. It was glorious. The leaves were freshly fallen and soft to the touch. They had not dried out yet and still had some color and smoothness to them for comfort. We blew and raked them into the biggest pile we could make and then started running and jumping into the pile while sinking to the bottom of it, completely covered in foliage and smiles.
This is what Autumn is all about. We rolled around and laughed and wrestled and got our mouths and clothes full of leaves. It was a great day with no computer, phone or video game console needed. Thank you Mother Nature. You have some great toys.
