George Strait has done so many things that no one else will ever accomplish in country music. The amount of records, concert tickets sold and number one hits are numbers that no other artist could ever dream of doing. Today marks the anniversary of a couple of milestones in the career of Mr. Strait.

On this date two years ago George played his final show of his farewell tour in Arlington, Texas. The Cowboy Rides Away Tour wrapped up on this date in 2014. It is hard to believe it has been two years since we said goodbye.

It was also on this date in 1998 that George finished the very first country music stadium tour with a show in Houston. I remember these tours so well. We used to travel the country to see George and this tour. We saw it at the old Mile High Stadium in Denver and we even traveled to Kansas City and Las Vegas to check it out as well. No one had ever done a tour of that type before. Tim McGraw, Faith HIll, John Michael Montgomery and several others were also on the tour. Some of my greatest memories are of my times at George shows. Dancing in the pouring rain at Mile High to George is one of my greatest memories of all time. Thanks for all the great times George. I am forever indebted.
