It was 1985 and I was starting my radio career in Tioga, North Dakota. I was young, eager and so out of touch with country music. I had been raised with the best of them, Conway Twitty, Dolly Parton, Barbara Mandrell and George Strait, but it had been a while since I had really listened. I had gotten distracted by REO Speedwagon, Bryan Adams and Billy Idol. But there I was in the heart of America, playing America's music and occasionally watching the label on the record as it spun around on the turn table to see what I was playing. I was decorating my Christmas tree, drinking way too much hot chocolate on those cold North Dakota nights and falling in love with George Strait... on the radio... 'THE CHAIR'

The story in this song was so magical to me, I remember wishing some boy would play the same kind of trick on me and I would meet the love of my life and dance forever.

George Strait is on the final leg of his last tour forever and will stop in Denver April 5, 2014. Wide sell of tickets opened this morning and the Pepsi Center (the Pepsi Center has a capacity of 18,007) sold out in 4 minutes. K99 is excited to have tickets to this SOLD OUT show and even more excited that we will be giving them away-to you! Keep listening to the radio, we'll give away George Strait tickets sometime between now and April 5, 2014 and don't forget to explore our website to see how you could win your tickets online.
