George Jones Records Greatest Country Love Song Of All Time On This Date [VIDEO]

People argue all the time about the best this and the best that. I have heard many arguments through the years about what the greatest country love song is. I have heard many titles thrown around but the one that pops up more than any is the George Jones classic “He Stopped Loving Her Today”. On this date in 1980 George went into the Columbia Recording Studio in Nashville and cut it. He bet his producer Billy Sherrill it would not go number one. George was wrong. The Greeley Stampede is coming up, and you know what that means. Corndogs, cowboy hats, concerts, and cars. One of the best parts of the 10-day festival is the demolition derby. Hundreds (yes, hundreds) of drivers will partake in the destructive chaos. This year's demolition derby will take place on July 7th at 2:00 PM, and tickets cost $20-25.
