Gas Prices and Travel in Colorado for Labor Day Weekend
The average price of $2.22 per gallon is 27 cents less than we paid last year and
on track to be the lowest Labor Day gas prices since 2004. As a result, more than 50% of Americans say they'll be more likely to be traveling this weekend. See more at AAA.
GasBuddy.com reports gas at $2.04 a gallon at Costco at I-25 and Harmony in Timnath, and $1.99 a gallon at Everyday at 28th Ave & 11th St. in Greeley...nice.
If you are one of those travelers, Rocky Mountain National Park.com reports the aspens are already turning gold at higher elevations though the most vibrant colors won't appear until late September. That website recommends several scenic drives.
For those heading to the mountains on I-70, Channel 9 reports that CDOT will be "Safety Metering" the Eisenhower Tunnel with stop and go traffic lights.
