There are certain songs that will just never die. Now and then someone releases a song that every bar band, basement singer, karaoke star and friends and relatives all know by heart, no matter what kind of music they listen to. Garth Brooks 'Friends in Low Places' is one of those songs.

I remember the first time we played it on the air over 25 years ago, we loved it so much we played it again right away. That had never been done before and has never been done since in my career at K99. Today marks the 26th anniversary of that classic making it's way to number one on the charts. I have found a few versions of other folks singing it as well as the man himself. Enjoy and raise a toast to all of your friends in low places today.
